Biography

Brian Flores is a dedicated saxophonist and educator from Show Low, Arizona. He has earned a Bachelor of Music in Saxophone Performance and a Master of Music in Performance, and he is currently pursuing a second Bachelor’s degree in Music Education. He will begin his doctoral studies in saxophone performance next semester at the University of Utah.

Brian has been recognized through several competitions, including winning the White Mountain Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition (2017), the Eastern Arizona College Concerto Competition (2019), and most recently, the White Mountain Symphony Orchestra Collegiate Concerto Competition (2024).

As a performer, Brian has been active both as a soloist and ensemble musician, appearing in saxophone quartets, reed quintets, and other chamber groups. His performance career has included featured solo appearances in solo recitals, duo recitals, and chamber recitals.

In addition to performance, Brian has developed a strong background in music education. He has served as a private instructor for saxophone, flute, piano, voice, and violin, including work with the University of Arizona’s String Project. His teaching experience spans a wide range of ages and skill levels, reflecting his commitment to nurturing well-rounded musicianship.

Driven by his passion for education, Brian aspires to teach at the collegiate level, guiding and inspiring the next generation of musicians. His ongoing studies and professional experiences continue to shape his work as both a performer and educator.
